Best Family Lawyer in Oregon
Ryan P. Hamilton
Family Lawyer
My friends and family always told me that I should be an attorney. I had a knack for debate, and I wasn’t shy about standing up for what I believe in. Although both of those things are important, that’s not why I became a family law attorney.
I chose to be a family law attorney because the first time I saw how much happier someone could be at the end of a divorce, I knew I was doing the right thing. It changed my entire perspective on what divorce actually means for someone. It means a new direction, a new hope, a new life. It means being able to find happiness again.
Most people can’t see a path to a new beginning. When I sit down with someone, I do everything possible to help them see that path. I help people see that although a divorce can feel overwhelming and scary, they can make a better choice to feel empowered and find peace of mind. I enjoy helping people make the best decisions possible to improve their lives. My job is to help them walk that better path.
What sets Sherwood Family Law apart is that we have learned to help people in a way that actually improves their lives, by making sure they don’t feel stuck in a place of limbo. We carve a path forward that our clients can rely on and transform their lives with.
Your first step to a better life starts with a consultation at our office. The promise I make to anyone that comes to Sherwood Family Law, is that we will take the time to understand and empathize with where you are in life. When we understand where you are, we will help you create a plan on how to move forward and make your life better. We will guide you step by step to a better place, so that you can worry less and have more peace of mind.

SARAH M. LITOWICH
Family Lawyer
Salem attorney Sarah M. Litowich is an Oregonian through and through, with roots in rural eastern Oregon and the Willamette Valley. She is grateful for these deep Oregon roots because she learned the value of hard work and building and maintaining strong relationships. Her legal career has taken her to southern Oregon and the Willamette Valley, which she now calls home.
Sarah founded Litowich Law to help families. Sarah helps her clients plan for their family’s future and protect vulnerable family members through estate planning, probate, and protective proceedings. Sarah has experience handling a variety of cases, including estate planning and guardianship cases, probate cases, family law cases, asset division, landlord and tenant cases, and felony and misdemeanor criminal law cases. Her experience in these other areas of law gives her great insights she wouldn’t otherwise have.
Sarah takes a long term view of helping her clients. It’s not just about drafting documents and making legal arguments (she’s good at that, too). Sarah understands that real people with real relationships are the heart and soul of what she does. While earning her master’s degree in conflict resolution, she learned that helping people means understanding the root causes of problems. She takes time to guide her clients toward understanding those root causes so that they can craft real-world solutions that will stick. Sarah knows that her clients’ long-term relationships remain long after the lawyers are done and gone — her goal is that the work she does improves those relationships when possible.
Above all, Sarah wants to empower her clients to make informed decisions concerning their important legal issues. With her clients’ stories and goals in mind, she will work hard to help her client protect their family and future. Sarah has been selected as a Superlawyers Rising Star in 2020, 2021.
