Brett Keller Duncan

Family Lawyer

Brett is a lifelong resident of Hammond, Louisiana, and currently represents his community as an elected member of the Tangipahoa Parish School Board.

After graduating from Hammond High, he joined the Louisiana Army National Guard, where he served for 10 years helping lead operations of the 205th Engineer Battalion. His service included a tour of duty to Afghanistan in support of “Operation Enduring Freedom.” While serving his country in combat is one of his proudest achievements, he is quick to tell anyone who will listen that this tour of duty was also the time that he was most proud of his hometown. Brett had asked his hometown to “Adopt” three Afghan villages near the base where he was stationed, and the city came through in a huge way. He was never more proud to be an American and Louisianan. For his service in combat, Brett received: Army Commendation Medal, Louisiana War Cross, Army Achievement Medal (3rd), National Defense Service Medal (2nd), and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medal.

Brett graduated cum laude from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelors of Arts in history and government. While at Southeastern, he was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity, as well as Gamma Sigma Alpha and Order of Omega honor societies. He also served as Interfraternity Council President and Chief Justice of the Student Body. Upon his year of graduation, Brett was the recipient of the Lieu Award, the highest honor for academic excellence in his major.

After graduation, Brett began pursuing a Masters in Business Administration and joined the management team of ARAMARK Corporation, the company in charge of food service operations at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Yazan Rantisi

Family Lawyer

Yazan “Yaz” Rantisi is the founding attorney of The Louisiana Family Law Firm. He was born and raised in the greater New Orleans area and earned a Political Science degree from LSU. He then followed in his father’s footsteps and became a successful car salesman in Baton Rouge. During this time, Yazan discovered his passion for helping others and began dreaming of transitioning into a career as a lawyer. By chance, Southern University Law Center Chancellor John Pierre and Yazan went on a test drive. Chancellor Pierre quickly convinced Yazan to apply to law school and he was soon accepted into the Southern University Law Center’s evening division. The road was not easy, but with the support of his friends, family, and co-workers, Yazan was able to support himself through law school by working during the day and attending classes at night.

At the end of 2016, Yazan left the dealership and began preparing for his career as a lawyer. He quickly realized he had a passion for family law, and earned a skill set that lends itself to finding solutions in highly contested divorce and child custody disputes. He applied this passion and skills by volunteering as a CASA advocate, where he assisted children in foster care. Quickly he earned a reputation within the organization and courtroom as someone who could help find solutions among even the most adversarial parties. Yazan has been recognized multiple times by Capital Area CASA for his work and has been published in the Baton Rouge Advocate as a result.

Paula Boagni Bertuccini

Family Lawyer

Prior to opening my firm, I was a surgical technologist. Years in the surgical discipline taught me to perform my duties with a sense of urgency so that I was prepared for any emergency. I learned to constantly anticipate the surgeons’ needs and remain vigilant to the condition of the patient.

I have carried that discipline over to my practice of law and the impact is very efficient case handling with an eye toward caring for my clients. Moreover, having raised two children as a single mother while working and obtaining my law degree from LSU, I am uniquely sensitive to those who need legal services but have difficulty paying. I believe in doing a good job for my client at a fair price. I try to offer solutions, not more complications, to people’s legal problems. It is my goal to act in a way that brings honor to my profession.

Stephen Rue

Family Lawyer

Stephen Rue grew up under the loving care of his widowed mother Jeannie Rue. Jeannie worked as a public school teacher to put Stephen and his sister through school and college.

Stephen Rue graduated from Loyola Law School with high grades and a driving will to succeed not only for himself but also for his clients. Stephen was hired as an associate attorney in a downtown law firm representing Lloyd’s of London and other insurance companies. After a few years, Stephen decided that representing insurance companies against victims of negligence was against his personal principles; therefore, Stephen decided to start his own law practice and help people in need

Stephen saw an old boarded-up Steak and Egg Restaurant that had been for sale for several years on Williams Boulevard in Kenner (near one of Stephen’s first clients). Stephen asked the elderly owner of the property if he could buy the old building under an owner-financing agreement with a small down payment. The elderly owner agreed, and so Stephen renovated the old Steak and Egg Restaurant and turned it into a law office.

Stephen, at that time, could not afford the renovate and live in a separate apartment, so he lived in one of the back rooms of the law office for almost two years. Since that time, nearly three decades since, Stephen Rue has, with a lot of hard work, skill, and dedication to his clients (one client at a time), has now become one of the most recognized, praised, and honored attorneys of the Greater New Orleans Area. Stephen Rue now offers his skills and expertise to you. Stephen is a telephone call away. Please contact Stephen Rue today.
