John DeGirolamo

Family Lawyer

My name is John DeGirolamo – I represent Husbands and Fathers in Florida family law proceedings.

In 2013, I was nominated and selected to join the elite National Trial Lawyers of America, and have been recognized for the eighth year in a row as a top 40 under 40 trial lawyer for all of Florida. I am 10.0 rated on AVVO and my Google Reviews speak for themselves.

When Husbands and Fathers go through a Florida family law proceeding, it’s incredibly difficult to gain equal footing with the way the laws of this State favor wives and mothers. It is just as difficult to find an attorney with the qualifications, experience, and aggressiveness to strongly litigate cases in the family court

Husbands and Fathers in Florida are the underdog. Husbands and Fathers come to me terrified with thoughts of losing time-sharing with their children and having to make financial child support payments. Husbands and Fathers need a lawyer that understands what they are up against in Florida, which is known as a “mother state.”

I’m able to solve issues experienced by Husbands and Fathers because my practice is 100% dedicated to Husbands and Fathers. This means I can provide all the available case options and suggest the strategies that will earn Husbands and Fathers the equal results they deserve

Helbert Lopez

Family Lawyer

Helbert Lopez believes that helping to solve legal problems doesn’t just mean looking for solutions. It’s also about finding opportunities for clients to move ahead confidently with their lives following a divorce, an immigration matter, an auto accident, or a personal bankruptcy.

In his role as CEO of Florida Law Advisers, P.A., Helbert uses his broad range of legal savvy and business wisdom to give Tampa, Orlando, and Central Florida citizens the guidance they need.

“My diverse work experience and education provide a solid foundation to solve any issues faced by my clients,” Helbert proudly proclaims. “In these capacities, I have gathered a multitude of skills that will benefit my clients and my organization.”

A native of Colombia, Helbert points to his complex background in Florida real estate as an example. He says his fluency in Spanish allowed him to effectively communicate with buyers and sellers so that families could buy their first house.

Yet, Helbert realized that reaching his full entrepreneurial potential meant gaining a better understanding of law. He says that upon earning his law degree, he developed a professional acumen and a business model. This included knowing smart ways to purchase unclaimed real estate properties and enhancing his emerging real estate business.

With Florida Law Advisers, P.A., Helbert is using that same well-honed business sense to help the Latin American population in Central Florida with their legal needs. He says the law firm’s goal is to provide top-quality family law, personal injury, immigration, and bankruptcy/debt protection services — without steep legal fees or extensive time battling in court.

SUSAN M. CHESNUTT

Family Lawyer

Growing up in the system I have always had a special place in my heart for families and their children.  After I graduated from UF I worked as a Child Protective Investigator for 4 years here in this community.  I became disenchanted with the system because I realized I couldn’t save the world or change the system.  I started exploring other avenues, one of which led me to completing my Masters Degree at UCF, and another that led me to consider law school.  I chose to go to law school instead of accepting a supervisor position at DCF

During law school I focused on family law and thought for sure that’s the type of law I would practice and planned to return to the Department of Children and Families. I also clerked for one of the most prestigious family law firms in Jacksonville for a year and a half or so.  When I graduated, I wasn’t ready for family law or DCF and wanted jury trial experience.  I became a prosecutor and in 4 years I had over 30 jury trials and countless non-jury trials.  I then went into private practice and had the opportunity to learn criminal defense from one of the best attorneys in this area.  I learned a lot and now have the opportunity to go out on my own.

My background in family law and my experience in the system both as a child and as an employee have given me a unique perspective in all types of cases.  I know what its like from every angle and the impact these cases have on all parties involved.
