Blake Pierce

Mr. Pierce was born in Miami, Florida and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Central Catholic High School, he attended Boston College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He attended law school at St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas.

After St. Mary’s, Mr. Pierce practiced Family Law for just under 5 years. He excelled at handling mediations, divorces, and SAPCR’s. He quickly advanced his skills in trial advocacy, client communication, leadership, and time management. He continues to excel in and out of the court room. In 2023, he was named a Top Family Law Attorney and Rising Star in San Antonio’s S.A. Scene Magazine.

He prides himself in treating his clients with dignity, honesty, and respect. He enjoys working with other professionals and has learned how to excel, support, and lead a positive and productive team environment. He is a quick learner and enjoys challenges that do not have an easy solution and require critical thinking.

Marco Cepeda

Marco is originally from El Paso, Texas, and is the youngest son of Mexican immigrants. He came to San Antonio in 2004 to attend university and graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law. During his time at St. Mary’s, Marco volunteered as a student attorney helping indigent clients in family matters. Seeing the hardships and injustices many families go through during a divorce or in suits involving children, Marco developed a passion for family law. Marco’s fighting spirit, regardless of the odds, makes a powerful contribution to the litigation team at Hoelscher Gebbia Cepeda, PLLC, which he joined as a named Member in 2018.

As a devoted husband and proud father, Marco knows just how personal and stressful family law issues can be. His own family is multi-cultural and multi-religion. They don’t agree on politics, either. Nevertheless, family is the center of Marco’s world. In addition to running Hoelscher Gebbia Cepeda, PLLC’s family law practice, Marco is an adjunct professor at Our Lady of the Lake University. In his free time, Marco enjoys spending time with his family, reading, playing the guitar, and mountain biking.

Carla Ozuna

Carla Ozuna is one of the firms up and coming superstars. Carla was named Head of the Family Law section in November of 2021. Carla’s legal practice focuses on helping our clients resolve complicated divorce and child custody cases.

Having been raised by a single parent and having been divorced and a single parent herself, Carla understands how difficult the process of a divorce and child custody case can be, and enjoys navigating clients through each challenge and toward a brighter future. Carla is best known by her colleagues for her strong work ethic and diverse real world experiences that give her an extremely unique ability to successfully advocate for her clients.

Carla graduated from high school in the top 10% of her class. While attending high school, she worked in the legal department for JAG (Air Force’s Judge Advocate General’s Corporation), helping to process claims. She was instrumental in getting over a million dollars in claims recouped. She created her own system for data entry, which they went on to use for years.

Carla went on to attend undergrad at St. Mary’s University where she graduated early with a double-major in economics and philosophy. During this time period, Carla was also working full-time to help pay for her education.

Carla went on to work for the Department of Family Protective Services (DFPS), often referred to as CPS (Child Protective Services), as an investigator. She was responsible for overseeing over 100 active cases at a time. Her work at DFPS allowed her to see firsthand how the department operates and how to effectively help clients facing the very scary and overwhelming accusations that could result in their children being removed from their home.

Orlando Kell

Orlando Kell grew up in El Paso, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin from 1996-2001, where he landed on the University Honors list three separate semesters in earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and Minor in Radio-Television-Film. He then went on to St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude in the top 10% of his entire 2005 graduating class.

During his time at St. Mary’s, Mr. Kell accomplished many things. He helped pioneer the reformation of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. He also dedicated a full year of pro bono service to the St. Mary’s Center for Legal and Social Justice, where he served as a “Student Attorney” in representing and defending indigent clients accused of committing crimes. The foregoing service also earned Mr. Kell the “Pro Bono Achievement Award” at his graduation ceremony, which was presented to him by the Dean of the law school.
