In that first book, he detailed his own story of overcoming a rare, debilitating medical condition. He told of going from being a competitive martial artist and power lifter to becoming almost completely paralyzed in about a month’s time, as a tumor attacked his spine. In the book, he shared a year from his personal journal, candidly describing what it was like and what it took to overcome tremendous adversity against great odds. This book, and the “Brutally Honest” process help reader to design their own compelling future and to overcome what may stand in the way of achieving that compelling future.

BARBARA FLUM STEIN

Barbara Flum Stein is the founder and principal attorney at the family law office of Barbara Flum Stein & Associates in Media, Pennsylvania. DAVID E. AUERBACH

David received his B.A. degree from Muhlenberg College in 1960 and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1963. His firm merged with Eckell, Sparks in 1971.
Initially, David was a general practitioner and did a great deal of trial work. Throughout his career he has been involved in many civic and Bar Association activities. He served as president of the Board of Directors of Delaware County Legal Services. He was also a part-time instructor at Penn State University. David has been selected to Super Lawyers each consecutive year since 2004.
Over the years, David has narrowed his practice to a concentration in family law. He has handled literally thousands of cases over the years involving very sophisticated issues and many dealing with substantial assets including professional practices and business enterprises.
David has lectured frequently, not only in Delaware County, but throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He has spoken on various aspects of family law including the Divorce Code of 1990 with all its amendments. He has written an article analyzing the Divorce Code which thoroughly and carefully analyzes not only the Divorce Code but the various cases interpreting the Divorce Code in Pennsylvania. The article has been used as a basis for an annual lecture.
David is an avid tennis player and skier and recently has taken up golf.
He is married and has two children, both of whom are lawyers.

Bud stayed in Delaware County for college, graduating from Swarthmore College in 1962. While there he was a varsity wrestler for three years, sports editor of the college weekly newspaper, a thespian, chairman of the Men’s Judicial Committee, and president of the Inter Fraternity Council (IFC).
He received his L.L.B. and J.D. from Columbia Law School in New York City, where he served as Chairman of the Men’s Judiciary Council, was a thespian in the “Law Revue of 1965” and married his high school sweetheart, Mona. They returned to Delaware County where they raised their three children.
When not serving his clients or one of a number of professional and charitable organizations, Bud sails and races his 14-foot Catboat ‘Cat Nip’ on Barnegat Bay in New Jersey with Mona as his First Mate, assists Mona in keeping their garden on Long Beach Island beautiful, and plays tennis a few times a week. He and Mona also have appeared together in theater productions of The Rose Valley Chorus and the Ohev Shalom Players.
