Teresa R. Reade

Divorce Lawyers

“My goal is to look at the family holistically and help my clients get to a better place in their lives.  I try to explain to them what their decisions may mean for their future and for their family.”

Teresa Reade works to help clients through the emotional and mental challenges that come along with the divorce process while educating them to choose their best path forward. She explains what is happening and what to expect to remove much of the discomforting uncertainty from the divorce process. Then she helps clients understand their options and the long-term effects of the choices they will be making. In particular, she enables parents to appreciate the options that could be most beneficial for their children in the long run.

Teresa focuses her practice exclusively on issues relating to family and divorce law, including custody and parenting plans, child support and alimony, complex and high asset property division, and prenuptial agreements. Although she works to resolve issues through cooperative means, her extensive litigation experience enables her to vigorously protect her clients in court when necessary.  Teresa began her practice in civil litigation creating a foundation of both written and court advocacy skills that she continues to build upon with every case.

“People come to me in a bad situation,” she explains. “Their marriage is falling apart, their family is falling apart, they’re uncertain whether they’re going to be able to live in their house anymore or even tuck their kids in bed at night. I can’t solve all of their problems, but I can do a lot to help them find the best solutions and come to a stable and peaceful place in their lives.”

A dedicated advocate on behalf of children, Teresa serves as a Guardian Ad Litem to investigate and make recommendations with regard to parenting and custody issues.  Teresa also represents children’s interests in the court through the Attorneys Representing Children program. Her service to clients, in-depth knowledge of the law, and success in and out of the courtroom led peers to nominate her to the Super Lawyers list.

Lydia Field

Divorce Lawyers

Attorney Lydia Field is set apart by her seemingly unending patience and ability to relate to all of her clients, but also, by her uncanny ability to flick the switch when the opposing party is playing games – she does not put up with that and has no problem calling a spade a spade.

Attorney Field has helped guide clients through highly complex and contentious divorce and custody cases in a manner that allows the client to fully understand their legal rights and responsibilities without encouraging unrealistic expectations.

An important consideration within Attorney Field’s practice is that she fully realizes that when litigation gets underway many people lose sight of their original perspective and goals; it is easy to want to fight back because the other side is throwing punches. Although she knows when and how to put the boxing gloves on, she also realizes that doing so when there is another way to get the results being sought can be detrimental to a client rather than helpful. Due to this, Attorney Field constantly takes her clients through a cost-benefit analysis to help everyone remain focused on the issues that truly matter within their case.

Bill Farias

Divorce Lawyers

Attorney Bill Farias is the firm’s founder and managing attorney. His focus is on family law, and mainly divorce, custody and support matters.

He chose family law because it provides an opportunity to help people who are at a low point in life. He loves that people come to him in the darkest of times, and that he has the chance to not only get them through it, but to actually turn their circumstances into a positive experience. That’s what this firm aims for in every case, both in terms of the quality of the legal work and the client service.

Before law school, Bill was a case manager at the Department of Children & Families in MA. This experience allowed him to work closely with families, and required work on issues of custody, mental health, substance abuse, medical care, schooling, domestic violence and other issues that are typically addressed in divorce and custody cases.

Bill dedicated the early part of his career to building the litigation skills. He worked as an assistant district attorney and tried a number of cases before juries and judges. When there are contested issues in family law, it’s important that the attorney has the skill, experience and courage to push the client’s position.

For fun, Bill likes to read and to travel with his wife Kenia, and two little girls, Gabriella and Emma.  They have a golden-doodle Allie and a shi-tzu mix Teddy. Bill grew up playing hockey and volleyball, but now he’s too old and slow, and gets sore easily, so he stopped. He now channels his competitive driv
