Kevin R. Fisher

Criminal Lawyer

I graduated from the University of Alabama and attended Quinnipiac University School of Law, where I received awards for Outstanding Legal Scholarship, Outstanding Performance in Oral Advocacy and Moot Court Honor Society. I live in Atlanta but love the fact that my criminal defense practice takes me all over the beautiful state of Georgia. In my spare time I like to keep active and enjoy giving back to my community through volunteer work and working with local youth and their parents.

In the past ten years, I have developed an impressive record of getting charges dropped or punishments reduced. In addition to being a skilled advocate in the courtroom, I understand the importance of strategic advocacy. I thoroughly investigate each case to help my clients decide whether going to trial is their best option, or if they should consider a plea agreement.

Prior to practicing criminal defense, I served as general counsel in the corporate sector. As a corporate attorney, I developed formidable negotiating skills, which I now use to make sure each of my clients gets the best possible deal for his or her specific case.

Jeffrey P. Manciagli

Criminal Lawyer

My practice is devoted to criminal defense in State and Federal courts. Most of my cases are drug related – drug conspiracies and drug trafficking – but I also handle crimes of violence such as murder, aggravated assault, and armed robbery and sex offenses such as sexual assault and child molestation.

My office is in Atlanta, Georgia but I have handled cases in numerous other states and have represented clients who have been extradited to the United States from Latin America and the Caribbean. I have also consulted with clients in Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala, and Jamaica.

My father immigrated to the U.S. from Sicily when he was 20 years old. He met my mother, who was from a small town in up-state NY, while finishing up his university degree. He landed a job with a multi-national company and spent almost his entire career overseas. I lived in six different countries before the age of 18. I finished junior high in Caracas, Venezuela and graduated from the International School of Bangkok in Thailand. In a number of the schools I attended, more than 35 different nationalities were represented. I loved every minute of it.

In the United States and throughout the Americas, Native Americans, African Americans, Latinos, and other people of color have been vilified, targeted, and put down for hundreds of years and consequently make up a vastly disproportionate amount of our prison population – the largest in the world. When thinking what I wanted to do with my life, I decided that the criminal justice system was where I could make a difference.

Since I was a kid, I have rooted for the underdog – and there is no bigger underdog than a person being accused of a crime by their state or federal government. Criminal defense gave me an opportunity to do more than root for the underdog – it gave me the opportunity to actually defend them. Every one of my clients enjoys the rights set out in the Constitution and I make sure that those rights are protected. To the best of my ability I work for them to obtain the best possible outcome. It’s an awesome responsibility, but also a great privilege.

Atlanta Arrests: Why You Need the Best Criminal Defense Lawyer in Your Corner

The bustling metropolis of Atlanta, Georgia, captivates with its rich culture, vibrant nightlife, and thriving business scene. But even in a city known for its Southern hospitality, legal troubles can arise. If you find yourself facing criminal charges in Atlanta, securing the services of the best criminal defense lawyer can be the difference between a life-altering conviction and a brighter future. This comprehensive guide delves into the critical role a skilled lawyer plays in navigating the complexities of the criminal justice system, protecting your rights, and achieving the best possible outcome.

The Maze of the Legal System: Understanding the Importance of Legal Representation

The American criminal justice system is a labyrinth of intricate procedures, legal jargon, and evidentiary rules. Facing criminal charges without experienced legal representation can be daunting. Here’s why having the best criminal defense lawyer in Atlanta on your side is crucial:

  • Understanding Your Rights: From the moment of arrest, you have specific legal rights, including the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney. A lawyer ensures you understand these rights and how to exercise them effectively.
  • Protecting Your Future: A criminal conviction can have long-lasting consequences, impacting your employment opportunities, housing options, and educational prospects. A lawyer fights to protect your future by minimizing the potential damage of the charges.
  • Building a Strong Defense: A skilled lawyer meticulously investigates the case, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and identifying potential weaknesses in the prosecution’s case. This comprehensive approach forms the foundation for a strong defense strategy.
  • Negotiating with Prosecutors: Experienced lawyers have the expertise to negotiate with prosecutors, aiming for reduced charges, dismissal of the case, or participation in diversion programs like drug court or anger management.
  • Trial Experience: While most cases are resolved through negotiation or plea bargains, some go to trial. A lawyer with a proven track record in court ensures effective representation if necessary.

Beyond Legal Expertise: The Qualities of a Top-Tier Criminal Defense Lawyer in Atlanta

Not all criminal defense lawyers are created equal. Here are the key qualities to seek when selecting the best lawyer for your case in Atlanta:

  • Experience in Atlanta’s Criminal Justice System: Every jurisdiction has its nuances within the legal system. A lawyer with extensive experience handling cases in Atlanta’s courts understands the local judges, prosecutors, and procedures, giving you a significant advantage.
  • Proven Track Record of Success: Look for a lawyer with a history of achieving positive outcomes for clients facing similar charges. This track record demonstrates their ability to navigate the legal complexities and secure favorable results.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial. Choose a lawyer who listens attentively to your concerns, explains complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner, and keeps you informed throughout the process.
  • Aggressive Advocacy: While zealous representation is essential, it should be balanced with professionalism. A lawyer who is not afraid to fight for your rights but maintains a respectful demeanor in court inspires confidence.
  • Accessibility and Responsiveness: Facing criminal charges can be stressful. Your lawyer should be readily available to answer your questions, address your concerns, and provide guidance throughout the legal process.
