KENNETH MAYFIELD

Mr. Mayfield graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1973 with a Juris Doctorate Degree at the age of 22. He is a native of Okolona, Mississippi where he graduated from Fannie Carter High School with honors in 1968. After high school, he was an honor student at the University of Mississippi before he was suspended for peaceful civil rights demonstrations on the Ole Miss Campus in February 1970. After suspension, he transferred to Tougaloo College where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors in May 1971. Mr. Mayfield obtained his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School at the age of 22 and began practicing law in Tupelo, MS in 1974 at the age of 23.

Mr. Mayfield is now Senior Attorney in the Mayfield Law Firm, P.A. where he manages the firm’s practice of Auto Accidents, Bankruptcies, Social Security Disability, and Workers Compensation Cases.

K. Dustin Markham

A native of Meridian, K. Dustin Markham has been licensed to practice law in the State of Mississippi since 2011. Mr. Markham is admitted to practice in all state courts in the State of Mississippi, and before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Northern and Southern United States District Courts, and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Tribal Court. Mr. Markham’s practice includes Family Law, Criminal Law, and Wills and Trusts. He currently serves as Prosecutor in the Lauderdale County Youth Court and Defense Attorney in Lauderdale County Justice Court with his own private practice in downtown Meridian.

Mr. Markham is a cum laude graduate of Meridian High School, a graduate of Meridian Community College, and a 2007 cum laude graduate of Jackson State University, having obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He is a 2010 graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he was active in the Democratic Committee, Black Law Students Association, Southern Law Coalition, and American Bar Association Student Division. He served as President of the Disaster Relief Legal Association, an organization charged with providing pro-bono legal services to those individuals experiencing the aftereffects of Hurricane Katrina. Through his efforts, the organization continues to provide volunteers to the New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation.

An active member of the community, Mr. Markham is a member of First Union Missionary Baptist Church, where he sings in the Men’s Chorus. He is a June 2012 graduate of the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation’s Leadership Lauderdale Program.
