I am a native Charlottean and graduated from Myers Park High School. I did my undergraduate studies at UNC Charlotte, graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration, major in Marketing, as well as a B.A. in Spanish. While in undergrad, I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain through a program with UNC Chapel Hill. I graduated from law school as class valedictorian. While in law school, I studied abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland through a program with William Mitchell College of Law and I also interned with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office.
When I am not practicing law, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. I also sit the board of a wonderful non-profit organization, Fashion & Compassion.
Since opening Rech Law in 2010, I have helped hundreds of clients through the tough times that almost always come along with family law issues, including divorce. I believe in fighting hard for my clients and being there for them when they need me the most.
I chose the field of domestic law because I felt that I could make a direct and positive impact on people’s lives. I believe that helping provide a service to the community is not only a benefit to the public, but it is satisfying and rewarding for the practice and for me. I believe in giving my clients realistic expectations, instead of telling them what they want to hear. To me, such a philosophy makes for more collaboration between the lawyer and the client, which ultimately makes a very difficult situation just a little better.

To me, no other area of law offers the challenges and rewards that come with a domestic law practice. Issues of divorce, custody, adoption and equitable distribution are some of the most important issues people will face in their lives. I enjoy family law because it allows me to connect with my clients and help them during a very difficult time. From the initial consultation through the completion of the case I am guided by two main goals: (1) to advocate for my client and (2) to inform, educate and prepare my client. While attorneys in all areas of practice have an obligation to zealously advocate for their clients, family law provides a unique opportunity to help people by educating them about the law so they can make informed decisions. While I truly enjoy the time I spend in the courtroom, the most rewarding part of my job is helping my clients understand their options in order to resolve their case and help them move on with their lives.

Jennifer is a founding partner at Remington & Dixon, PLLC. Jennifer concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, wills & estates, unemployment benefits appeals, and traffic.
Jennifer was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she graduated from Walter Hines Page High School. She received a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a second major in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law in Greensboro, North Carolina.
At Elon University School of Law, Jennifer was the vice president of the Public Interest Law Society and a member of the Family Law Society. Jana K. Jones

Jana K. Jones is a Charlotte-area native who attended East Mecklenburg High School. After high school, Ms. Jones studied sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). While enrolled at the UNC-CH, she was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.
Ms. Jones mentored “at-risk” students in multiple programs including Carrboro, North Carolina’s Teens Climb High and Durham, North Carolina’s Standards Based Solutions. Ms. Jones also participated in a UNC-CH’s MANO Program that provided English as a second language and mentoring services to immigrant women.
Ms. Jones’s interest in sociology followed her into her law school years. It was in law school that she was able to focus her social interest in a legal arena. While at North Carolina Central University’s School of Law (NCCU) she worked for the Center for Child and Family Health (CCFH) in Durham, North Carolina. There she wrote grants and created evidentiary memoranda for CCFH staff to use as it pertained to the medical diagnosis exception to the hearsay rule and to a doctor’s ability to testify as to the credibility of child sexual abuse victims.
Her work at CCFH also allowed her to participate in Durham’s Domestic Violence Response Team and Sexual Assault Response Team. As a member of these teams, Ms. Jones worked with the Durham Police Department, Duke and Durham Regional SANE nurses, and others with the goal of addressing and decreasing sexual assault and domestic violence in Durham, North Carolina.
While a student at NCCU Law, Ms. Jones was trained as a Certified Mediator by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission. After her certification, she mediated cases in Wake County, North Carolina. Ms. Jones also participated in the Innocence Project. The Innocence Project is dedicated to exonerating wrongly convicted people through DNA testing. For her work in public service, Ms. Jones was awarded the North Carolina Bar Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Public Service.

While working towards my law degree, I volunteered for the UNC divorce clinic, was vice-president of the American Constitution Society, and completed over 100 hours of pro bono work for families in need.
